Hulō Jordana & Kevin
In alignment with our vision to mālama each other and our honua, we’ve put together your very own ʻōhiʻa seed kit! This kit represents our desire to help our community, and inspire us to grow and nurture each other through the practice of growing ʻōhiʻa.
The story of your kit begins with a chance meeting with Jordana and Kevin, at Kahala Mall in March during a pop up event. I was so excited that Jordana and Kevin wanted to mark their wedding day by having their cherished friends, families, and loved ones grow ʻōhiʻa from seeds to seedlings.

A Few Tips for growing your ʻŌhiʻa from Seed!
- If you are not going to plant your seeds right away, please put your seeds in the refrigerator and plant within the next two weeks.
- Once you plant your seeds, it is essential to keep the sphagnum moss moist. The best way to do this is using a spray bottle and giving your moss a good sprinkle several times a day.
- Keep your pots in a place (even inside the home) where there is some indirect sunlight.
- Kilo! Your seedlings should germinate within 10-14 days from the day you plant your seeds!
- Trees grow slowly! You can enjoy your seedling in the peat pots for several months or even a year at which point you would transplant it into a bigger pot.
- If your peat pots deteriorate due to extra moisture or get to wet, you may need to transplant your little seedlings into another pot.
