We've teamed up with Nā Pua Noʻeau to offer 3 different & unique virtual workshop experieces this Hoʻoilo! Please review the information below for each Institute and check back for registration links on November 13 and November 15. Classes will fill up fast so mark your calendars!

Priority given to keiki and ʻōpio who resides on Hawaiʻi Island of native Hawaiian ancestory
Kuahiwi Diorama & Flipbooks for K-3 grades
This workshop brings together Kilo, Art, and Pixel Art. Kamaliʻi will create their very own kuahiwi diorama to learn, connect, and kilo the wonders of our cherished rainforests. We will learn about ʻŌhiʻa lehua and its role in our watersheds and study the relationships between our beloved manu and endemic plants. Students will also create flip books and pixel art. And lastly, we will engage in literacy through daily storytime.
Kilo X + Y in Scratch for Grades 4-8
In this workshop, haumāna will connect to and share their kilo observations through letter writing and digital storytelling. We will learn how to use Scratch & code our mauka to makai adventures.
In partnership with Maui Nā Pua Noʻeau we invite you to join us for our Kilo Wai Institute open only to our Kula Kaiapuni keiki who reside on Maui & Molokaʻi!
The Kilo Wai Institute 2021 celebrates and honors, wai, one of the most precious resources found on our Honua. Participants will build their connection to wai through documenting rainfall and learning about the importance of wai through the ʻoli, He Mele No Kāne. Students will showcase their understanding and highlight their connection to wai through creating pixel art and apply the fundamentals of animation along their kilo journey.
